SAN DIEGO REMCOM CODE OF ETHICS

San Diego Radio Emergency Medical Communications SD "REMCOM" is dedicated to its heritage of emergency service, a heritage built upon the commitment of each member to uncompromised professionalism and pursuit of the highest standards of professional and personal conduct as expressed in the following articles:

?         We will only accept assignments we are qualified to perform, and we will perform at a high level of professional competence.

?         We will conduct ourselves in accordance with both the letter and the spirit of the applicable code of ethics and bylaws where we perform and plan service activities.

?         We will be alert to the totality of our conduct so that a series of actions, each falling within the parameters of the code of ethics and bylaws, when viewed together will not give the appearance of improper or unethical behavior.

?         We will not accept assignments that place us in conflicting roles that may bias our objectivity or judgment.

?         We will follow all procedures to ensure that we adhere to highest level of professionalism at all times.

?         We will not disclose sensitive information to third parties without specific authorization. Sensitive information obtained will be safeguarded from disclosure.

?         We shall not publicly disparage the character or professional performance of another REMCOM member and shall perform public service so as to avoid unnecessary controversy. Our conduct at any REMCOM meetings will adhere to this standard.

?         We shall conduct business in a restrained and highly professional manner avoiding exaggeration and misrepresentation.

?         We will work for the mutual benefit of REMCOM by sharing the lessons of experience and professional study with fellow members.

?         We will work with the leadership of San Diego REMCOM for the mutual benefit of the group.

As part of our heritage we will endeavor to live up to the principles of The Amateur's Code written by Paul M. Segal, W9EEA, in 1928.
